CORN - Tassel Count

Tassel Count is used for a number of reasons.

  1. This is the time to make decisions on fungicide applications.

  2. Yield estimation. We can start to put together our fertility recommendations by knowing different yield removals.

  3. We will overlay stand count and tassel count maps to see where there has been a change in population through the growing season. This allows us to investigate why the change in population, and to address the problem in the coming years.

  4. Overlay yield by stand count and by tassel to continue to improve. Never settle, always try to do better.
